Most people especially strangers who met me and Khaleef would say that Khaleef is a GIRL!! (Eventhough he wore a blue romper printed with cars or a superman logo pun people will asked "a girl ke?")

We chose Ferrero Roche (which is so yummy!) and Kinder Bueno (FR is definitely better)

..and after all those chocolatey milkshakes, we ordered a refreshing blast: Watermelon+Raspberry+Lemon. It's refreshing!

Jungle Gym

Bangsar Shopping Centre

We went to Jungle Gym a few weeks before Zara reached 2 years old, because it's f.o.c for child below 2 years old!!! LOL..yeah such a cheapskate parents we are. Whatever, i love free stuff especially when per entry would costs RM22 (weekdays) or RM28 (Weekend).

We both took leave just to have fun with our beloved daughter. We played for about 2 hours non stop, which left us exhausted at the end of the day. Kaki macam nak patah and tangan as well due to carrying my heavyweight Khaleef. There were slides (we love the slides!), Trampoline, Ball Pools, Rope Walk, Air Guns, and many more. Your kids definitely will love it and truth is parents enjoyed it as well, because you have to accompany your kids especially kids below 2 years of age. In other words it means you can play for free too:)))))

Continuing where i left from my last entry..

Nope, we didn't celebrate Zara's 2nd birthday at SJMC as her dad refused to celebrate her daughter's birthday there.

So, we celebrate at home with four of us witnessed by my amused dad.

Here's the pic of my birthday girl who refused to blow the candle, she just smiled and successfully dipped her finger on the icing. Haih!

Owh..my cake is a a Pisa Tower cake, see..senget a bit. Lol.

And, this is how she celebrate her 2 yrs. Get to eat a cake on her own. Zara simply refused to be spoon fed. She enjoyed eating the cake on her own.

The best thing is, she loves the cake! With every bite she said "dap..dap.." whilst nodding her head several times. Hahahaha.

She's like a Rainbow

I'm so excited and i cudn't sleep.
I made this rainbow cake for Zara. It's for her early 2nd birthday party. That is today!
It's a shame we have to celebrate it early because i have to attend a conference this weekend.
At first, i planned to order this cake from ga-teaux. But, she was'nt available to bake Zara's rainbow cake:(
So, i decided to bake one for Zara! It took me about 7 hours and luckily Khaleef is such a cooperative good boy tonite as if he knew mommy's has a big project to complete.
It has 6 layers - red, orange, yellow, green,
blue and purple.
Ya..i know rainbow has 7 colors, but i can't find any indigo colouring in store..
Zara loves buttercake and buttercream frosting instead of chocolate cake.
I hope she likes my rainbow cake.
Auntie Ya, Unc Adam, Adib and Zara's Grandma will not be around today, they have to be at Sjmc as early as 7am for Auntie Ya's minor surgery:(
I know..why not we bring the party to Sjmc instead after the surgery!
Ok..i need to sleep now...it's 5am, or else i wudn't be able to get up at 7am.

P/S: We decided to make Zara's 2nd birthday as a family only celebration, however we will throw an invitation for Khaleef' 1st birthday in Nov 2011.

Khaleef's milestone at 4 months:

Apart from he can laugh, smile, cry, grab an object (such as one of the colorful spider's leg, small pillow, ur finger and his handkerchief)...

He can roll on his tummy.

When i'm about to sleep he'll roll around and look at me with a big grin on his face, as if to say "see mama i can roll!". Sgt cute! tp Yes..darling but u can't roll on to ur back. So, i have to roll him back to his sleeping position, but then..he'll roll on his tummy and give me a big grin on his face. Naughty ni..

He can lift up his head as well.

He loves his fingers sooo much. U'll find him staring at his fingers for a good 20 minutes!

He loves sucking his fists and chomping his fingers! sedap kot..

We've been here twice. First one was before i delivered Khaleef, we went there to celebrate ourselves - babyshower cum anniversary cum birthdays cum engagement.

The Foods:

Starter:

Salad

ummm...salad taste like salad lah. The sauce is just nice. However the greens are fresh and crispy.

Vegetarian Soup

It's a creamy vege soup with a generous sprinkle of black pepper.

Main Course:

Scrumptious Fried Rice with Deep Fried Patin.

The fried rice is in the coconut shell => Delicious. The rice is fragrant and soft with a touch of serai and a hint of spiciness, crispy patin, fresh prawns and very spicy sambal belacan if the fried rice is not sipcy enuff for u.

Rate: 5 Star. It's a MUST try if u come here.

Charbroiled Chicken

Charbroiled chicken is served with sauteed tiaw miaw (some kind of greenish tauge) and potatoes with scrumptious sauce.

I don't remember it's name, it's something like Fish & Chips

The fish is crispy on the outside and so soft and gebu on the inside. The fries is thinly cut and not salty.

Penne Bolognese

...It's a salty dish. The sauce is too salty.

Hawaian Pizza - I lost its pic, and same goes with penne bolognese, the pizza is salty to the taste.

Sago Gula Melaka - I lost the pic as well. But the Sago is so soft and the gula melaka and santan is so creamy and moderately sweet. It's a sweet ending to our main course.

The Drinks:

Vanilla Shake

I don't need to explain what is vanilla shake made of. Everyone knows a shake. It's the best drink of the day!

Scrumptious Surprise

It's a shake consists of chocolate and a hint of coffee. Sprinkled with chocolate rice and nuts on top.

For the Shirley Temple- Sprite, Grenadine syrup, & Lemon.

I love desserts. The more sinful the better. Especially during stressful time, a yummylicious dessert is the best antidote in the whole world. Sape x suke dessertkan? oh!! wait...ade! Lee from Masterchef and his gf hates anything chocolate for dessert. Hokey...weird.

1st Dessert:

Eton Mess - a mixture of strawberries, pieces of delicious yummy meringue, and cream.

It's a beautiful mess.

The taste is wonderful! especially the aftertaste...owh paradise, heaven, cloud 9 segala!

What can i say, the combination of cream, strawberry and strawberry sauce screams perfect and the meringue pieces is my favourite of all..yes it's sweet but combine it with the creamy cream and the strawberries it's paradise. * i want some more*

2nd Dessert:

Baked Chocolate Pudding - baked chocolate pudding with a hint of coffee and generous amount of nuts served with ice cream vanilla

This is the main reason why we went to The Apartment, to try their Baked Chocolate pudding that everyone raved about. My review? I'm a milky chocolate type, so i don't fancy this dessert because they use bitter chocolate which caused me a mild migraine. However, if u love bitter chocolate this is ur kind of dessert:) and the ice cream tasted bland to me, uh...i think they should use a better brand of ice cream. The texture of the baked choc pudding- it's a lil dry on top, inside is mushy and felt like a chocolate marshmallow with a lil gooey of choc pudding in the middle.

We've tried two desserts only, we will come back for more Eton Mess and to try other desserts as well. Go try the Eton Mess, we rate it no 2 after Alexis Pavlova;)

Happy belated New Year!

Happy Chinese New Year as well!

I know it's been a month since i last blogged.

I'm on the inet e.v.e.r.y.d.a.y but i'm too occupied (with my muses: baby khaleef, zara antics, reading stuff on the inet, fb, workloads and lunches) to focus on blogging.

I've started working since january '11...and ever since my life routine consists of working, pumping, bfing, rolling on the bed during weekends with khaleef, chasing after zara, tickling zara as a punishment or just to hear her laugh and yes tickling khaleef purely for fun and to see him smiling and giggling, and cleaning their wees & poos.

I hv lots of things in my mind such as blog an entry, having a weekend getaway, baking a choc cake, ordered hanis zalikha's mom choc cake (sgt sedap ok), dim sum, baked choc pudding at the apartment, anor mini uhu-hu at the loaf, ...eh! wait....99% is on food???? ....ok, i admit i love food, err..let's talk about something else..i'm getting hungry here.

O yeah, one of the angels delivered a beautiful baby girl in January. Congrats again Yanti!. Below are pics of our babies, and be prepared to add 3 more pics by end of this year. Aaawww, i love the smell of newborn babies. Someone said to me it's a smell from heaven. Can't wait for 3 additions in the family soon.

Relax jgn stress, eat lots of nutritious food, eat tau fu fa, drink milk, soya bean, hot longan, honey, habbatus sauda', kurma, pumped at least 3-4 times a day if u r working, and lots of water.

Shd hv done it on his 7th day, but we hv been postponing it due to DH's flu & cough.

Ola!!

It's been a month since i last updated. Sorry for the lack of updates.

Below are what u missed in Nov 2010 particularly on:

2.11.2010

Our 3rd wedding anniversary.
No flowers, No chocs or candies, x romantic candle lite dinner...we celebrated the day in a different way this time around, in a labour room waiting for the arrival of our pressie.

@2:20am i've delivered our pressie with DH by my side.
The rest of the day n nite we spent by sleeping in btwn bfing n eating.
Alhamdulillah, the labor process was smooth, fast & easy.
I cud do it again & again;P...really, giving birth is one of those beautiful moment.

Introducing, Zara's baby brother: Khaleef Zaqwan

Selebihnye, gmbr Khaleef's hobby, iaitu TIDO. I called him my peaceful baby bc he loves to sleep.

I'm counting anor 14 days till my confinement ends.

Confinement is b-o-r-i-n-g.

I can't carry zara and i can't walk around so much or else, everyone will freak out reminded me to slow down.

I know most of u love the post natal massages. Well..i DON'T!! SAKIT LA!! But the aftermath is refreshing..itupun after 3 days. I've suffered from body ache for 2 days. Ouchh!!

Stitches - I hate them. Thank you to jeli gamat. After 10 days i feel 100% healed.

Confinement fud- Yummeh. I love them-fishes, soup, veges! But i do crave for A&W float, butterscotch, abc & Baskin Robbins. Huhu..

Zara Khalyssa - my poor baby, she was hospitalised for 3 days due to high fever, flu & cough. Her paed suspected her for pneumonia, but actually it's just a normal flu, cough and phlegm.

So that's it for now.
Will update more on Zara & Khaleef.

Girls will always be girls..

I was folding linens..while zara is playing behind me with something (i didnt bother looking) while talking in her own language.
Suddenly all was quiet..i turned to look at her wondering 'apsal baik sgt ni'...I was shocked looking at her face at first, then i looked at her hands n screamed ' Zara!! NO!!! Stila mama!!!'

Everyone's gone to Putrajaya bc my sister's at the hospital n gonna deliver her 1st baby anytime.

Everyone's camping at my MIL's house, except me & dh bc we hv to work tmrrw.

My parents decided to bring zara along as nobody going to look after her after we r off to work.

This is my 2nd time being far fr zara:(

I hate this feeling.

I went bawling after seeing her curly hair bobbing out from the car window while waving gbye at us..

....i cried looking at her pampers..

....i cried looking at her playpen..

....i cried looking at her favourite toys..

....i cried looking at vitagen bottles..that's her favourite drink..

....ok, i think i shd stop crying. I don't need a puffy face n eyes tmrrw.

DH been sweet, trying to console me..sorry dear, i don't know why am i so emotional.

Zara..mama miss u so bad;,,(

Painless

Weird thing happened after 4 days of misery.

This morning, i woke up and the contractions were gone! Lalala...
I slept peacefully last nite and woke up this morning feeling energized n painless.
Even thru out the day till now, i only felt contractions thrice, x every hour n mins like the past 4 days.
I guess bun #2 changed his mind;)
or...
Just to scare myself, i read that when u've reached 2cm-4cm dilation, the regular contractions that
u've been hvg for several days will suddenly stop. It's a way for your body to rest, until active labor sets in several
days later. They called it prodromal labor. *gigit jari..
Owh well...whatever it is, i'm relieved that i'm x delivering anytime soon and i'm happy that i'm painless.
I can go to work happily n hv great lunches with my colleagues.
It's time to enjoy my final weeks with lots of food n quality time with zara.

Timing Contractions

In case u r wondering...i'm still here!

Despite the contractions and all the toilet drama, i'm still baking bun #2.

Went to the hosp yesterday to check on the contractions.

Dr said it might be braxton hicks or pre-term labor. But, since the baby seems active, water bag pun full lagi and everything seems nice except that my tummy is really low and the shooting pains, Dr said it might be braxton hicks la.

OK..kalau braxton hicks kenapa sgt sakit mcm nk bersalin ni?? pls...go away pain! i wanted to enjoy my final weeks.

Dr gave me 3 days mc to time the contraction in order to determine which is which.

Eventho i'm on mc for 3 days, being a workaholic me..kononnyer lah, i am in the office right now and perhaps langkah kanan masuk ct, bc after 2 hours of trial..parties wanted to resolve the matter. GOOD!! I like that.

Now, i need someone to fetch me home.

On Dr's instruction: to time contraction.

I'm a failure lah on timing my own contractions....when the pain comes, if i can bear it, i'll bear it. If i can't..then what choice do i hv? still kene thn jugak la kan? i'll grip on anything that i cud or i just bit my lips till the pain goes away.

I've uploaded contractions timer application yesterday, however, when the pain comes i failed to push the start button because i am too focus on handling the pain.

I'll try my best to time it today or tomorrow.

I need to lie down.

I want to go home now.

Hope that bun #2 cud hold on tight until our anniversary date.

p/s: Betul la org ckp experience pregnantkan anak 1st and 2nd is diff.

Yesterday evening, i had a mild contraction.

Around 3am onwards, i woke up thrice due to diarrhea.

I am not sure whether it's food poisoning or if it's the onset of labour?

However...the weird and funny thing is..all i cud think of before entering the toilet on the 3rd time was "I am FAMISHED!! What shd i eat ek.. after i'm done with tis??"

Err...correct me if i'm wrong, in a normal diarrhea situation...u wouldn't be thinking of food what more having an appetite kan??? Plus, no one who had lunch n dinner with me yesterday seems to be complaining of diarrhea.

I googled about my situation and found that some women goes into labour 2-3 days after experiencing diarrhea. Some women pulak 1-2 weeks after that.

Well...the conclusion is, if it's gone within 24 hrs then perhaps it's just a stomach bug, but if it persists with contractions...then i hv to be prepared...uhuh.

Bun#2 we r just 34 weeks 5 days dear, 37 weeks is in 2 weeks time la!! Sabar la...

The baby "drops" or engages into the pelvis, which is called lightening. Lightening may occur two to four weeks prior to labor in first-time mothers and often not until labor begins if you have previously had children. - Checked
Your abdomen usually appears lower and more protruding - Checked n even more obvious this morning.
You may experience a greater ease in breathing, relief from heartburn and an ability to eat larger portions. - Checked
Frequent bowel movements may be experienced within 48 hours of labor, cleansing the lower bowel in preparation for birth. - Was it??
Diarrhea or flu like symptoms without fever. Indigestion, nausea, or vomiting are common a day or so before labor begins. - Hmm...
Increased vaginal discharge during the last few weeks of pregnancy as the body prepares for the passage of the baby through the birth canal. - Checked
Increased Braxton-Hicks contractions during the last weeks of pregnancy, which are "practice" contractions that prepare the uterus for labor and may cause some effacement and dilation (thinning and opening) of the cervix. These contractions do not ordinarily cause pain but may be sufficiently strong and regular to be confused with true labor. This is referred to as false labor. - Checked, been having this since 1st trimester bc i hv an irritable uterus..i can't differentiate the two anymore.
Possible "bloody show" or the release of slightly brown, pink or blood-tinged mucus from effacement and dilation (the thinning and opening) of the cervix, causing the mucus plug to be released from the cervix. - Not yet
Some women notice a sudden burst of energy, sometimes called a "nesting instinct" approximately 24-48 hours before the start of labor. You may feel a strong desire to clean the house and prepare for the baby. Try not to tire yourself as nature gives you this extra energy to help you during labor. If you must be active, be careful not to overexert yourself! - OK..we've cleared our room since last week n i've packed our hospital bag.
A loss or leveling off in weight may be noticed in the last few days before labor begins. It is common to lose 1-3 pounds of fluid before labor begins as a result of hormonal shifts. - I lost half a kg. Does it count? hehe
Mother just feels "different," not quite herself. - I feel different today...i just wanted to sleep. Eh..wait, bukan everyday ke mcm ni? but i do feel a lil bit different today..got headache and feels seram sejuk perhaps from lack of sleep.
The bag of water may break. Depending on the location of the break in the amniotic sac, the break can feel like a gush, or an uncontrolled trickle of fluid coming from the vagina. - Unchecked

10 out of twelve were checked.

Adakah bun #2 has its own plan??? nk keluar on 10.10.10??? or deciding to hv his own birth date tanak share with grandma & mama pit? or tanak kuar on our anniversary date which falls on 2.11?

We'll just wait n see...as i'm typing this i felt so sleepy and still having a mild contraction n mcm ade bowling bowl nk terjatuh down there.

I wish i'm not at the office right now but having a sweet dream in my bed with lil zara.

We finally managed to fulfill invitations of open house and beraya last weekend - aqiqah+open house and meeting dh's best friend.

Ye....dua rumah je pun, but I've 2 energizer bunnies - inside and outside my body. Handling both of them is a handful and tummyful.

I can't imagine handling these two in the near future. I noticed that bun #2 is all excited when zara's at her utmost active behaviour or when she's talking loudly in her i'm-not-a-baby-not-yet-a-toddler language. Bun #2 will be kicking vigorously, rolling and making tsunami inside like nobody business. Sakit ok mcm nk terberanak je.

Oh..minus this week, i hv approximately less than 3 weeks (if bun #2 is like zara who came out 3 weeks earlier) until i met our latest addition of lil energizer bunny.

I gained 2 kilos within 1 & 1/2 week and believe me the gaining process won't stop until delivery day because i'm constantly hungry towards the end of third tri. Err...bukan ke, towards the end u'll filled up quickly because u dont hv much space?. However, not me... i can eat a full course meal during dinner time, and can still stuff my face with roti canai, roti tisu and a glass of teh tarik... or during breakfast, after filling myself with a full plate of nasi kerabu and a glass of hot milo, 15 mins later my stomach is growling for food. I just hope, i won't turn into a BIG BABY WHALE by delivery time.

I've packed our hospital bag!!! it's to prevent myself from getting caught off guard like last time (my thought was to check up saje2 for mc and off to pavillion but instead to the labour room i went).

Our hosp bag refers to me, DH and baby. I almost packed zara's clothing but then i realized, hey..this is not a vacation. I do wish she cud be there with us all the way, but it's impossible. I don't think the Dr will allow a toddler in the delivery room eventho i cud convince her that zara's naughtiness cud speed up the delivery and pushing process.

Few more weeks until delivery but then isn't it wonderful if we cud do this:

Semolina / Sugee Cake

Ever tried a semolina cake? no? me neither. I've tried basboussa tho, almost similar but it's totally semolina in it without flour sprinkled with crushed pistachio on top. It's very sweet (imagine a buttery cake drenched in a condensed milk!) giler manis tp giler sedap! Nowadays, it's hard to get a yummy basboussa:((( Last time i had it was at taza's restaurant. Ok enuff of basboussa, this entry is about a semolina cake. I accidentally found this recipe while blog hopping and decided to try it cause the cake pic in that blog was too irresistible (unlike mine, i snap the pic above using my camera phone) so it lacks the lustre of a moist cake. Despite of the pic above, honestly...it's an absolutely delicious semolina cake, too good not to be shared. Imagine this: the cake is very moist, buttery to the taste with a rich buttery aroma especially when it's fresh from the oven (Sgt wangi!!), has grainy textures of semolina, and it's just perfect for tea time.

Here's the recipe:

Semolina Cake

140g cake flour

1 tsp baking powder

100g semolina

1/4 tsp salt

4 eggs

100ml milk

2 tsp vanilla extract/essence

250g butter, at room temperature

170g sugar

2 tbsp honey

Sift flour and baking powder into a bowl and stir in semolina and salt. Mix well.

Beat eggs, milk and vanilla essence together in a bowl.

Cream butter, sugar and honey till light and fluffy. Gradually trickle in egg mixture, beating constantly. Mix in flour mixture on low speed and stir till well combined.

Spoon the batter into an 8-inch cake tray lined with baking paper.

Bake for 45 minutes at 150 deg C or until an inserted cake tester comes out clean.

Cool cake for 15 minutes, then unmould and let cool.

Decorate as you like or have it as it is. Best served with a cup if tea.

This morning, i read one of my favourite blog and let me quote what she said;

" I was genuinely, sincerely very happy for her. You know, it’s not every day that we can say that we’re happy for others and really MEAN it. And even if we are sincerely happy for that person, it’s never the same as feeling as though that person’s happiness is your happiness. I hope you get what I mean. As for me, I don’t feel like that very often although I have been generally happy for others many times. It was just one of those special warm feeling. As to why I feel differently this time, I guess it has to do with a ‘long story cut short’. "

Raya Bug

How's ur 1st and 2nd week of raya? Mine were a bleak one. No family pic of us taken, bc zara's asleep when our photographer (my brother) got back fr kedai mamak for his roti canai di pagi raya! Well, i managed to snap a few pics of Zara and DH. But, i'm too lazy to upload those pics. Bile kerajinan tibe, i'll try to upload k.

We failed to attend several invitation for open houses and failed to visit most of our relatives. On the 1st and 2nd raya, zara is still recovering from flu n cough. We managed to cover 2 houses only. On the 3rd of raya, DH's down with flu, fever, sore throat, tonsilitis and cough till today. On the 5th of raya, i caught the bug as well suffering fr swollen uvula, flu, mild fever, a bit of coughing until today. THANK YOU sgt2 to those who kind heartedly invited us to ur open house. Sorry that we hv to reject it as we don't want u guys to catch the sick bug.

Eventho we are sick, we wouldn't want zara to miss her 2nd raya celebration, with a heavy heart we let our lil zara spent her hari raya ~~collecting duit raya~~ visiting close relatives with her grandparents, auntie and uncles. While, we were left at home to recover.

Don't u just hate it when u fell sick during ur holiday? kacau je kan. All u know u r back at work (like right now!) and still in a holiday mood. But, there were several times i dreamt of work...i.e listening to a complicated trial or listening to lawyers bickering with each other. Did i miss work that much?? * Shudders. It must've been the sick bug!

Anyway, i can't wait for the next salary!! cepat la...before i 'ter' use the money in the raya packets for the kids! kuikuikui.

Countdown to 4:30pm

Less than a week we r gonna celebrate hari raya..cepatnyer...which means i hv 2 mths or 1 & 1/2 mths lagi till bun#2 arrival.

This ramadhan, i've missed 11 days of fasting due to contractions, terlepas sahur & uh....nausea+vomitting (i didn't hv this with lil zara back then during the 3rd tri, so...this is a new experience having to overcome nausea with a big belly) :(((

On bun#2,

We did a detailed (anomaly) scan.

Alhamdulillah, everything's perfect :) we counted the tiny toes and fingers, saw the chubby cheeks and cute lips, measured everything and finally the gender is confirmed - it's gonna be a baby brother for lil zara:>>> Yaaaay!!

I've yet to shop all out for bun #2 since everytime i went out shopping, i end up buying for lil zara instead and 1 or 2 rompers for bun #2. Girls clothing lines are sooo fabulous as compared to boys, mmg ada yg cute2 for boys but limited choice pulak. Besides, it's so much fun dressing up lil zara.

Cian...bun #2. Ok, bun bun.. mommy vowed to shop for u next week along with mommy's raya shopping.

I'm on leave starting next week till 17 Sept 10. Wuhooo!!! I can spend more time with lil zara;)

Right now, i'm counting the hours till 4:30pm. Cepat lah nk balik!!

1st: That's my boss name (uh..so-called-boss here in KL).

2nd: I banged into an old lady's gen 2. Scratched her bumper on the right side and rear bumper terkuar like 1cm. How did i banged into her? i'm having contractions and need to get home fast n jugak jalan tgh jam. Usually kereta akan rapat2 kan? But not this lady, this lady left a WIDE space between her and the car infront. It's good!! but not good in my condition yg tgh emergency and jugak when my car is in a menyerong position in the middle of the lane nk ke lane kanan with signals on and she budged an inch aje rupenyer??? so i banged into her and broke my headlights. Hahahahaha. Ok...it's my fault anyway, sape suh salah budget and tak alert that she will stop so suddenly. Anyway, the point is that lady's name is Azizah. I was like ok..u remind me of my office la lady.

3rd: Talk about sehati sejiwa kan, my other half banged into anor car as well, 2 days after my incident. However, it wasnt his fault it's the other guy who ran away but we managed to get his plate number after a series of chasing along the Putrajaya-LDP. So, off we went to a police station and met this sergeant lady. By the name of? Yes...Sjn Azizah!! uh?? that name again?

Oh my...what's going on here? However, all i can tell is...all of them have similar traits. Seriously!!! Eh....i'm not referring to bad traits (jgn salah sangka...nnt ade org slh interpret n report lak) but positive one la- Nmpk garang tp hati baik and ramah bagi nasihat.

P/S: Motive of this entry- duit raya mungkin akan berkurangan secara drastic atau paling horror, takde langsung!!!! sbb wit dah abis terbang fixing Mrs Azizah's car, my headlights, and soon to be fixed- DH's car. Perhaps u guys can contribute duit raya kat kitorg instead. hahaha. Shooh..shooh...off u go bad luck. We had enuff!

Fasting during the month of ramadhan while being pregnant is challenging. For someone who's a lazy bum, having to wake up at 5am for sahur is a BIG achievement. I spent fr 5am till azan subh stuffing my face with rice, bread, milk, plain water, kurma and vitamins. However, the hunger pang starts to set in at 10am, n bun #2 will be kicking vigorously perhaps asking for nourishment? or maybe the sound of my growling stomach wakes bun #2 from his/her peaceful slumber. I can tahan the hunger n thirst but up to 5pm i'm flat already...but due to this weird cravings for my own cooking that i hv...tah hape2 kan? particularly this month of ramadhan, i hv to cook..even a simple omelet with onions and chillis cud take about half an hour bc i'll be spending 5 mins chopping onions, 5 mins relaxing on the couch and so on until i finished cooking. By 730pm whole body is shaking with hunger. I'm not complaining, i just found it very challenging and i'm impressed with pregnant mommies who are able to complete 30 days of fasting without a hitch.

Day 6 of fasting, alhamdullilah up to this day there was no contraction attack at all. Amazing!! Eventho i skipped taking pills there was no contraction. Thanks to uterus and bun #2 for being so cooperative and good to me. I hope this will lasts until the 30th day and so on.

An entry is not perfect without mentioning my notty lil zara. At 1 yr and 5 months, she's been a handful lil girl even during sleeping time..giler lasak!! boleh tido 360 degree, tibe2 je kaki dia leh sedap2 landing on my face la, on DH stomach la, belum masuk cerita lain lagi...kejap lagi we found her giggling on top of the dark staircase looking down at our panic faces, or there was this one time when i was about to doze off she poured a plain water fr her seeping cup on our bed. Ok, it's my fault anyway, letting her drink in bed. Hahaha. Owh, yes, some of u might be thinking zara tido lasak and kaki naik muka?? Yes, we co-sleep with our dotter bc we find it comfortable and happy to do so, the feeling of hugging ur dotter to sleep is priceless. I've tried several times letting her sleep on her own inside the cot, but the problem is ME, i can't sleep peacefully because i'll be waking up several times at nite checking on her. Motherly habis la konon *perasan mode. Actually, i feel she's safe sleeping close to us. But, sooner or later she will be sleeping on her own bed anyway.

Zara's mile stone at 1 yr and 5 months:

She owned her full set of milk/baby teeth since 1 yr old. I love looking at her tiny baby canines and baby molars when she smiles....comel je.

Her vocabs: "kuar" "mamam" "banana" "mama" "abah" "air" "ten".....err that's it. Hahahaha x byk lagi...but she understands what we said and cud understand our instructions.

She can run and knows how to jump on the bed!! mane belajar tatau..i guess she just found out the bed is springy.

She loves to dance to any groovy beats...including the sounds of bolt n thunder, blending machine, batu tumbuk (her fave), and even the sound of rain falling on the roof!!! I wonder where did she get such keen ears for music?

She's an observer, and has a strong determination. If she wants something she'll try to get it eventho it will took her some time. She's been aiming my grandmother small square radio since last week. However my grandmother been hiding it from her every now n then switching places of hiding. Yday she finally got the chance to enter my grandmother's room when no one is around and guess what? She took my grandmother's square radio from the hiding place which was.. ok, senang je pun under the pillow n barter trade it with her abc123 sound palm top which she placed nicely under my grandmother's pillow. (That girl!! nk marah pun tak bleh...sbb pandai buat sistem barter trade lak.)

Actually kalau nk cerita about zara, mmg byk sgt. Tp enuffla for the mean time. I just hope bun #2 wud love lil zara and lil zara cud accept n love her lil bro/sis without throwing tantrums.

All these time when baking cakes, i prefer to do it manually, baru rase puas hati using just the wooden spoon and a bowl. This time i hv to use a stand mixer to whisk the egg whites.

Qadha / Fidyah / Both?

Ok, this entry adalah informative bg pregnant mommy and BF-ing mommy.

I've been wondering about this all the time, since my 1st pregnancy. I didn't fast during the month of ramadhan back then bc i'm worried about my baby's condition plus due to the mysterious bleeding i was ordered to bed rest. So, i hv to replace all 30 days (pheww!!). However, i'm short of 4 days still and am pregnant with bun #2. I tried to fast since last week, but due to irritable uterus..i get contractions regularly if triggered by hunger, thirsty, stress, exhaustion and etc. So, i've been wondering..WHAT IF...what if je la kan (not that i'm planning too), i can't fast this month of ramadhan again ... i'll hv another 30 days + 4 days to replace? Uh...tak sanggup ok.

Saya ingin bertanya, dalam keadaan apakah seseorang tersebut boleh mengganti puasa dengan fidyah? Mohon tanggapan Ustadz, karena saya bingung antara Fidyah dan Qodo. Terima kasih atas jawabannya. Wassalam

Jawaban:

Fidyah adalah denda yang harus dibayarkan kepada orang faqir/miskin yang disebabkan meninggalkan puasa wajib bulan Ramadhan. Sedangkan yang menyebabkan seseorang harus membayar fidyah adalah karena beberapa hal, antara lain:

1 Tidak mampu

Orang yang kondisinya tidak mampu untuk berpuasa seperti orang yang sudah tua maka boleh meninggalkan kewajiban puasa Ramadhan. Dan sebagai gantinya, tidak perlu mengqadha‘/mengganti puasa di hari lain, tetapi dengan membayar 1 mud makanan kepada fakir miskin satu hari untuk satu orang.

Alah berfirman:

وعلى الذين يطيقونه فدية طعام مسكين.

Dan wajib bagi orang-orang yang berat menjalankannya (jika mereka tidak berpuasa) membayar fidyah, (yaitu): memberi makan seorang miskin”. (QS. Al-Baqarah: 184).

2 Sakit

Sakit yang diperkirakan sulit untuk bisa disembuhkan lagi, sehingga tidak mungkin baginya untuk mengqadha‘ puasa di hari lain. Karena itu bagi mereka yang menderita sakit seperti ini, siahkan mengganti puasa dengan membayar fidyah.

3 Hamil/Menyusui

Wanita yang hamil atau menyusui bila boleh tidak berpuasa di bulan Ramadhan. Menurut sebagian ulama, untuk menggantinya adalah dengan mengqadha‘ dan juga membayar fidyah.

Namun sebagian lain seperti Al-Hanafiyah mengatakan cukup mengqdha‘ saja tanpa membayar fidyah.

Hadits Nabi SAW

Dari Ibnu Abbas ra. Berkata, ?Keringanan buat laki dan wanita usia lanjut yang tidak mampu puasa adalah boleh berbuka dengan membayar (fidyah), memberi makan 1 orang miskin untuk sehari. Dan keringanan buat wanita hamil dan menyuusi bila mengkhawatirkan anak mereka adalah membayar fidyah.(HR Abu Daud)

Sebab Perbedaan

Para ulama memang berbeda pendapat dalam mengkategorikan wanita hamil dan menyusui, apakah digolongkan sebagai orang sakit atau sebagai orang yang lemah/tidak mampu berpuasa (seperti orangtua dan lain-lain).

Yang mengkategorikan sebagai orang sakit, maka mewajibkan qadha‘/mengganti puasa, karena bagi orang sakit memang wajib qadha‘. Firman Allah:

Maka barang siapa yang sakit atau dalam perjalanan (lalu dia berbuka), maka waib mengganti sebanyak hari yang dia tinggalkan itu pada hari-hari yang lain (QS Al-Baqarah: 184)

Sedangkan yang mengkategorikan orang lemah/tidak mampu puasa, mewajibkan bayar fidyah tanpa qadha‘.

Dalilnya adalah terusan ayat diatas yaitu:

Dan bagi orang-orang yang berat menjalankannya (jika mereka tidak puasa) membayar fidyah)yaitu memberi makan seorang miskin (QS Al-Baqarah 184).

Dan Imam syafi‘i mewajibkan keduanya yaitu bayar fidyah dan juga qadha karena beliau memasukkan orang hamil sebagai orang sakit sekaligus pula orang lemah.

Yang ingin saya tanyakan adalah mengenai penggantiannya apakah dengan puasa di hari lain, atau membayar fidyah atau bahkan dua-duanya (membayar puasa dan fidyah)?

Assalamu ‘alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh,

Masalah wanita yang sedang hamil atau menyusui memang tidak ada nash yang sharih untuk menetapkan bagaimana mereka harus mengganti puasa wajib. Yang ada nashnya dengan tegas adalah orang sakit, musafir dan orang tua renta yang tidak mampu lagi berpuasa.

Orang sakit dan musafir dibolehkan untuk tidak puasa, lalu sebagai konsekuensinya harus mengganti (qadha’) dengan cara berpuasa juga, sebanyak hari yang ditinggalkannya.

Sedangkan orang yang sudah sangat tua dan tidak mampu lagi untuk berpuasa, boleh tidak berpuasa namun tidak mungkin baginya untuk mengqadha (menganti) dengan puasa di hari lain. Maka Allah SWT menetapkan bagi mereka untuk membayar fidyah, yaitu memberi makanan kepada fakir miskin sebagai satu mud.

Dalil atas kedua kasus di atas adalah firman Allah SWT:

Maka barangsiapa di antara kamu ada yang sakit atau dalam perjalanan, maka (dibolehkan berbuka dengan mengganti puasa) sebanyak hari yang ditinggalkan itu pada hari-hari yang lain. Dan wajib bagi orang-orang yang berat menjalankannya membayar fidyah, (yaitu) memberi makan seorang miskin. (QS. Al-Baqarah: 184)

Bagaimana dengan wanita hamil dan menyusui, apakah mereka mengganti dengan puasa atau dengan bayar fidyah? Atau malah kedua-duanya? Para ulama berbeda pendapat dalam hal ini.

Jumhur Ulama

Di dalam kitab Kifayatul Akhyar, disebutkan bahwa masalah wanita hamil dan menyusui dikembalikan kepada motivasi atau niatnya. Kalau tidak puasa karena mengkhawatirkan kesehatan dirinya, maka dianggap dirinya seperti orang sakit. Maka menggantinya dengan cara seperti mengganti orang sakit, yaitu dengan berpuasa di hari lain.

Sebaliknya, kalau mengkhawatirkan bayinya, maka dianggap seperti orang tua yang tidak punya kemampuan, maka cara menggantinya selain dengan puasa, juga dengan cara seperti orang tua, yaitu dengan membayar fidyah. Sehingga membayarnya dua-duanya.

Pendapat Ibnu Umar dan Ibnu Abbas

Namun menurut Ibnu Umar dan Ibnu Abbas radhiyallahu ‘anhuma, wanita yang hamil atau menyusui cukup membayar fidyah saja tanpa harus berpuasa. Karena keduanya tidak berpuasa bukan karena sakit, melainkan karena keadaan yang membuatnya tidak mampu puasa. Kasusnya lebih dekat dengan orang tua yang tidak mampu puasa.

Dan pendapat kedua shahabat ini mungkin tepat bila untuk menjawab kasus para ibu yang setiap tahun hamil atau menyusui, di mana mereka nyaris tidak bisa berpuasa selama beberapa kali ramadhan, lantaran kalau bukan sedang hamil, maka sedang menyusui.

Ke empat imam menyatakan bahwa jika wanita hamil atau menyusui kuatir akan kesehatannya atau anaknya, puasanya syah meskipun dia boleh meneruskan puasanya.

Bila dia memilih berbuka para imam berpendapat dia harus mengqoda(berpuasa di hari lain) puasanya. Para imam berbeda berpendapat tentang fidyah dan membayar denda.

Imam Hanafi berpendapat: bukanlah hal yang wajib.

Imam Malik berpendapat: wajib bagi yang menyusui tetapi tidak untuk yang hamil.

Imam Hambali dan Syafeí berpendapat fidyah wajib bagi yang hamil dan wanita mrnyusui hanya jika mereka mengkuatirkan anaknya; tetapi bila dia kuatir akan kesehatannya dan kesehatan anaknya, maka dia wajib mengkoda puasanya tanpa harus membayar fidyah. Fidyah setiap hari satu mud, cukup untuk makan seorang miskin.

Para imam menyatakan bila wanita hamil mendekati melahirkan atau anak yang sedang menyusui dapat mengganggu kesehatan ibu yang berpuasa, keduanya sebaiknya membatalkan puasanya dan tidak syah keduanya bila berpuasa. Mereka harus mengkoda puasanya dan juga membayar fidyah, satu mud, bila dikuatirkan kesehatan anaknya terganggu. Bila hanya dikuatirkan kesehatan si ibu, sebagian imam berpendapat si ibu harus mengqoda puasanya tetapi tidak perlu membayar fidyah, yang lain berpendapat dia harus mengkoda puasanya dan harus membayar fidyahnya.

The conclusion is:

If u r pregnant/Bfing & x fasting bc u r worried about ur own condition (category sakit) : wajib qadha shj.

But

Perlu diingatkan bahawa alasan mengharuskan buka puasa adalah disebabkan TIDAK MAMPU, bukannya sewenang-wenangnya dibenarkan kepada semua ibu mengandung & menyusukan anak. Ini adalah pendapat Ibn Hazm.
Dari sudut perubatan, antara sebab ibu mengandung & menyusu dibolehkan tidak berpuasa kerana TIDAK MAMPU adalah apabila mengalami dehidrasi (hilang cecair badan), tekanan darah rendah, pening dan pucat.
Ada wanita yang mampu puasa walaupun mengandung & menyusu. Namun tidak dinafikan ada sesetengah wanita yang tidak mampu.
Maka, jika puan antara yang tidak mampu disebabkan masalah yang dinyatakan, maka dibolehkan berbuka. Puan hanya perlu membayar fidyah mengikut hari yang ditinggalkan jika masih tidak mampu ganti puasa. Selain itu, Puan disarankan mendapatkan nasihat doktor samada Puan lebih sesuai untuk berpuasa atau tidak.
WaLLAHu a’lam.

My conclusion in my condition:

I'll just pay fidyah for the 4 days i missed and will try my very best to fast in this coming month of ramadhan hoping that my uterus will stop being irritable or at least the pain is bearable so, i don't hv to depend on medication to ease the contractions). Perhaps, when i'm fit enuff after delivery n before the next coming ramadhan (hoping that i'm not pregnant again at that time..hihihi) i'll replace the 4 days i missed.

So, we searched high and low for it, at last jumpe dkt G City Club Hotel. It's the best Macaroons.

Babycakes

is located on the

Ground Floor of G City Club Hotel, 199, Jalan Tun Razak, 50400 Kuala Lumpur.

The bake stand is open from 10am - 6pm, and they are closed on Sundays

Babycakes sells them at only RM2.20 a pop. There are eight flavours altogether: caramel with salted butter, dark chocolate, vanilla, black sesame, dark cherry with chocolate ganache, Japanese green tea, lemon, and red velvet with Nutella.

Sounds yummy kan? Go get ur macaroons at Babycakes. The caramel flavour is the best!! Next time, i'm gonna try red velvet with nutella pulak.

Hospitalized for 4 days / 3 nites

It's gonna be a long entry..

What transpired behind this door? This is how isolation room looks like in a hospital (at least at Columbia Asia Hosp). This room has 2 doors, this is the the second door.

Zara excited jumpe laci, time ni belum kene drip lagi.

Zara kene drip cuz she refused to eat or drink due to ulcers.

The next day, we switched into a anor room with a wide window bc we can't stand the isolation room it's stuffy with no windows. See again what transpired behind closed doors:

We blocked the door with chairs and tables bc zara wanted to go out, we were afraid if someone barged in and she's behind the door..sure jatuh.

Her level of naughtiness and activeness is still the same, sakit ke x sakit. But, it's heartwrenching seeing ur daughter scared and cried in pain especially during the insertion of catheter into her wrists sampai menggigil her small body maybe sebab takut sgt. But, i don't feel like knocking the doctor's head bc i'm the culprit who consented to her admission. It's for her own good, she got ulcers (lots of them - on her lips, gums, soft palate, hard palate, even on her tongue!!!!..it bleeds and she refused to eat or drink and her saliva keeps on drooling that we hv to put on a fresh new bib every half an hour). 2nd nite in the hosp she put tears to my eyes when she called out 'mama' several times in her sleep..perhaps she's having nitemares of nurses feeding her with meds.

I remembered ezany complaint that 'budak2 senang sakitkan?' so true...i felt like a bad mommy dragging my lil one to a long journey eventho she's sick. That's gonna be the 1st n last time i'd took such a worthy risk.

We spent 3 nites and 4 days in the hosp. We shd stay longer for a full 6 days. However, on the 4th day we hd to get her out from the hosp because she's having nitemares and cried aloud whenever she saw nurses coming in to give her meds (ubat tak sedap kot). By the way, the catheter pun dah tercabut dari tgn sbb lasak sgt on the 3rd day. I can't stand seeing her in pain kene cucuk anor catheter on her left hand pulak. So, we asked the doctor to be discharged and monitored Zara fr home. Thankfully, she's not difficult when taking her meds at home. We made the right decision..i guess she hates hospital.

She's recovering now. Alhamdulillah. Eh dah pjg2 i forgot to tell about the diagnosis. She's diagnosed with mononucleosis or the layman term "kissing disease". WTH la kan? ade such a disease..contagious and jahat la this virus, kesian ok when the ulcer bleeds. I dunno who gave her that virus, but this is the info on mononucleosis.

Infectious mononucleosis — also known as mono, or the "kissing disease," because it's transmitted through saliva — is most often seen in teenagers and young adults. However, it's possible for a young child to catch mono — for example, from a sibling's cup or spoon, another child's toy, or a smooch from an affectionate relative who has the virus.

The symptoms of mono usually don't appear until four to six weeks after exposure. If your toddler does have mono, his symptoms are probably similar to those of a cold or the flu and may include:
• sore throat
• swollen glands (in the neck and possibly the groin and armpits)
• fever
• skin rash

Wedding of an Angel

I dragged my loving DH and sick doter all the way from KJ-Segamat.

At first i decided not to go but then i felt guilty thinking it's a one in a lifetime event and it's the event that i've been waiting for - dah tgk pics baju reception via email jadi, mestilah kene tgk baju in action. Naahh!!! i'm kidding, actually it's one of my angel's wedding!! We've missed Ezany's (1st day of pregnancy positive maka telah panic and terus jumpe doctor) and Yanti's (DH is soo busy with his work and working during weekends) however we made it to Dam's wedding (in KL tho not in Ipoh). I can't forgive myself for missing anor angel's wedding. Yatt & Pitt- we spent lots of time together bc we were studying the same course, in the same class, skipping class together back in the main campus and to top it all Yatt's one of the angels who has nv fail to turn up whether i'm hospitalized ke, bersalin ke, birthday parties ke . So, i just need to be there!

Zara was cranky and needed a fresh air. We decided to stop by at this one particular place, back to our very 1st looonng winding, adventurous path but this time with our lil ones- One holding our hands and anor in the tummy;> Can u guess where it is?

Some of u might hv guessed it anyway the place that strengthen our friendship and ehem..relationship too;>

We actually wanted to go further up to the beautiful waterfall. But with Zara's condition and it was already 6:30pm by the way, plus with me being pregnant so happy yappy in the woods. So, we walked halfway introducing Zara to the refreshing cold river, the fresh air and smell of woods and then headed back to the car.

Itu bile dia nmpk nurse dtg nk check her fever, bp and give her meds.
I hope she will heal faster at home.

We went to see our gynae last saturday.

My lil girl is no longer afraid of the doctor.
When the doctor greeted her with 'assalamualaikum'...to my surprise
She ran after the doctor and without malu2 she barged into the doctors room.
Luckily we r the first patient of the nite.

On bun #2,
He/She is healthy.
We dunno about the gender yet as the umbilical cord is in between his/her leg.
I hv an irritable uterus..hence the frequent contractions i get.
I hv to be on medication to relax dear uterus.
Our gynae suggested that i be put on bed rest, but i dunno what the hell am i thinking?!!!
Shd hv accepted it happily, but instead, i told the doctor if i can't stand it no longer then i'll request for it.
Heh!! Am i crazy or what? Bukannye best keje..now, i regretted for holding the offer.
Bun #2 is kicking right now..mcm tau2 je tgh blogging pasal dia.
I'm on mc today due to cramping at 3am and a migraine which refused to leave me at peace since yesterday.

I've never set foot in Gombak territory ever since i graduated.
Jauh.
Tp..dekat di hati especially last nite.
Ever tried the famous Char Kuey Teow Mali & Nasi Lemak+ayam goreng at Jalan Malinja?
Trust me, they're the best!
Of course the food is YUMMIEST when u eat it there while it's still piping hot from the wok over a glass of teh o ais, under the bright moon & starry nite with angin sepoi2 bhs while chatting with ur close frens (*down memory lane with Ezan, Yat, Azreen & fath & kalau ade etc sorry if i left ur names..at this moment i can remember those faces je. My memory kind of blurry today)
Despite my current condition - fever, bad headache+body ache...it's such a mystery how i can still crave for a good warung food?
Hence, a wonderful DH went all the way after his late nite work fr Bangi to Gombak & tapau these 2 delicious food for me! Never thot that with Bun #2 he'd be willing to go miles for me especially when he's tired.
DH's effort made the Char Kuey Teow & Nasi Lemak tastes delicious than ever;> [nk lagi nnt...]

I hv a masquerade dinner to attend on Friday nite. The theme sounds funkan..MASQUERADE? Imagine the music vid of One Republic-All the Right Moves. Menarikkan? But, i don't think this dinner wud turn out to be like the one in the vid.
This is the 1st time i'm attending a masquerade party if u don't count a birthday party with the party mask as adik-beradik masquerade.
At first, the theme mmg sound fun...BUT..the task of finding a matching dress, hijab, shoe and mask at the very last minute is no fun. Susah rupenyer..especially in this condition-ade dress yg too tight at the upper body sampai takleh zip, ade yg nmpkkan the bulging tummy [A BIG NO NO la kan], ade yg da ok nmpk frumpy or dull pulak..

At last..the task of:

Finding a dress & cardigan? accomplished..with the help of a sales assistant and DH.

Finding a pair of matching heels? accomplished...i just grab a pair of wedges at vincci [as if i'm gonna wear it all thru the nite]

Finding a matching hijab? accomplished...i bought a simple one yg senang nk pakai at one of the stall at giant hypermarket.

Finding a mask? ughh...who thot that finding a perfect mask cud be a difficult task. Maybe i'm too specific in choosing one. Lastly, thanx to one of my colleague..we just ordered online from BUGSPARTY.COM. I settled with a simple mask. Malas dah nk choosy2. Hopefully the masks arrived before this coming Friday.

I'm expecting.
We knew about it three weeks b4 zara's 1st bday party.
The best part is my lil sister is pregnant too..we r one week apart.
Imagine the hectic it's gonna be at our parents house. I just can't wait. *ngee*

Some of u might ask, how's zara coping?
1st two weeks - zara merajuk, she didnt want to sleep with us.
We kept it a secret for the 1st two weeks not telling anyone even my parents.
Surprisingly, after telling my mom that i'm pregnant zara's no longer merajuk.
Zara loves to sleep on my tummy and patting my tummy as if she knew!
All in we r bonding greater than ever. I'm grateful that she didnt throw tantrums ~~yet~~.

Some of u might ask, how is it with the 2nd pregnancy?
Here we go again - sleepless nites, ticklish feeling in the tummy, tummy cramps and...yes the unwelcome morning sickness, i hv nausea from evening till nite time.
I love eggs, spicy food, seafood, fast food, chocolates and lychee.
I'm driving to the office. Definitely more independent with this one.
I'm craving for GLEE Season 2 & Gossip Girl Season 3.

So that's it, i'm enjoying every moment of it;>

It was fun celebrating it with my girls back then..watching the colourful firecrackers, singing merrily at the top of our lungs, late nite drink at mamak chit chatting, hanging out at what-is-the-name-of-that petrol station at dawn waiting for morning to come so we can enter the main gate to our hostel and get our much needed sleep.

Since i got married, i chose to celebrate the coming of a new year at home with my loved ones. Perhaps, i just got tired of the crowd or perhaps...i'm too old for those?? just like what the sales girl at jakel in her mid 30's told me..she's too old to hang out celebrating and pointed out i'm still young and should stay for the firecrackers. I told her, nope..i hate the crowd and chuckled away.

Right now.. here i am, sitting quietly in the dark clicking on this very laptop at the beginning of a new year while listening to the booming sound of firecrackers from all over-mutiara damansara, sunway & tah mane2 lagi. My lil Zara & DH? they are sleeping peacefully..totally oblivious to the loud noises from every direction. *amused.
Aww..I love them both.

The problem with me if i'm x working is...

I baked. Iye one cake after anor. I hv 2 more cakes in mind-soft cotton cheese cake and mini cupcakes with purple icing.
I can't sleep at nite-i read it sumwhere it's called transient insomnia.
I woke up at 10am...hahaha..rasenyer baru update an entry jadik early riser kan. Skang dah jadik temporary insomniac. I shd've seen it coming...i laid wide awake on my bed last few nites, watching lil zara sleeping secara lasak with her right leg on my chin. Suke ati betul dia tido.
I became a BW addict again. I hv Hotsling, Snugg MT, SSC, now my eyes in on RS and other snugg buggs. The BW entry from me da long overdue..i'll upload an entry on it thn depan.
I love surfing inet during nite time..esp at wee hours..like this.

Those r the top 5 problems.
The biggest problem seems to be the insomnia part. Sungguh troublesome having these sleepless nites.

*sigh..the only cure to this temporary insomnia is doing office work 8am-5pm...or perhaps opening my own baking biz or perhaps i shd learn to self-hypnotize.

Zara @ 8 months 4 weeks :

An active baby..active giler, panjat sana sini [katil, cot, sofa, high chair, stroller and even her car seat] sampai semua org mengah nk layan n boleh dpt heart attack selamatkan lil Zara fr falling.
Da pandai diri and jalan pegang railing from one end to the other end of the cot/playpen.
A strong baby..terhantuk ke, terkepit jari ke..nangis dua saat lepas tu pegi tarik laci again.
A cheeky baby..suke senyum/sengih sambil lentok2kan kepala, konon manja la. *ok...mmg nmpk manja pun.
Loves her porridge, bread, chicken and whatever kind of foodie that ppl put into her mouth.
Dah tumbuh dua gigi atas and dua gigi bawah. We bought a wooden cot for her and...she enjoyed chewing her cot. The cot dah ade new pattern!!- her gnawing marks.
When she's sad/wants her milk/wants an attention she'll call mamamamamama, wc melts my heart right there and then.
Loves magazines, papers, thick novels...Oh yes!! as i'm typing these..lil Zara baru koyakkan my Anne Rice. *tarik buku Anne Rice perlahan2 n bagi magazine camera DH to her instead.
Loves sucking on her toes (both toes ok!). Old myth: nk adik la tu. Betul ke? Perhaps..however, she enjoyed having lil kids and babies around her.

Urs truly:

True to the old myth-babies sucking toes=nk adik. As lil Zara turned 7 months, we found out that she's going to be a big sister. It's the best feeling to be pregnant again:>Whatever to those ppl whom questioned Zara kan kecik lagi? I hv my own reason why i'm on a fast track mode.
However, at almost 3 months we rcvd a sad news-there was no fetal heartbeat in the gestational sac, it was an empty sac. After seeking second opinion and tests-our final decision is for a D&C rather than waiting for a natural miscarriage to happen.
So, on 16th of Dec 09 i hd a D&C [a few days before my birthday..sape tak wish birthday lagi tu?? sile wish cepat;PPP]
I'm recovering at home until early next year. The best part is i get to spend time with lil Zara & i dont hv to wake up early morning to go to work;> *blissful...
A lil sad tho the lil baby bump is almost gone *rubbing my tummy. Owh well...i can fit into my old pants and jeans and having fun making baby bumps again;>

I've never been apart from my baby even a nite. I believed that she wud not be ok without me or something wud happen if i'm not around. Besides, i'm still BF-ing her and she might need me esp during nite time. Majority of 1st time mommy wud share this feeling.

For the first time on 29th Oct 09, i left her for a nite under her grandparents care.
That very morning the day i'm about to leave for ilkap, i kissed her cheeks with a heavy heart and almost burst out crying in guilt feeling like a selfish mommy.
On the way to ilkap i justified my situation as not abandoning her but i hv to focus on studying for the exam.
Obviously, i can't study at home with my baby zooming around & doing her cirque du soleil acts in her walker.
The day felt like neverending, the nite felt so long.
After the exam, i sped home like crazy. The term Biar Lambat Asal Selamat sounds stupid. If i cud fly, i wud fly straight to my baby.

When i got home..
The heavy feeling lifts up when i saw her waiting for me at the door.
Smiling widely and reaching out both of her hands towards me.
My heart melts and i almost cried..but, everyone including a cousin of mine were there watching us with ooohh and ahhhh pandainye dia.
Sibuk je semua org ni, thus..i hv to stifle a cry and my throat felt lumpy.

Even a nite, almost drove me to insanity the very next day...what more nites and days without her?
I need a stronger mental & heart to leave her if circumstances requires, but I really hope that there will be no more next time.
I'm absolutely amazed and tabik spring to mothers who has the strentgh to overcome the fear of leaving ur baby when circumstances demand.

Dang!! i hv so many things to blog about but so little time btwn juggling jobs, zara and DH i'm handful and legful too. Right now, i'm stealing a lil time because i'm tired of thinking about stats and grounds. Besides, there's no way i can blog at home with zara around.

End of August we managed to grab this:

Yes a DSLR! Now i can take lots of Zara's pics. But, every now and then i caught myself using my camera phone to take pics simply because it's within my reach and the most convenient thing around. Kan best kalau ade DSLR mcm pen ke pensil ke.
Bile nk outdoor korg?? hehehehe

Update on my lil Diva:

See? she posed like a diva herself. And yes, she's an attention seeker nowadays. My lil social butterfly laughed and smiled when being surrounded by lil kids who ooh-ed and aahh-ed around her. Enjoyed being kissed and tickled. But, she's afraid of men except her Atuk and handsome abah and seriously handsome guys. hahahahaha. Kecik2 da pandai appreciate beauty.

She's an expert on rolling rolling rolling and sondol. Zooming here and there in a walker [walker is the only thing that cud keep her interested and quiet for a good half an hour]. A few times terlepas ckp 'mama' 'ma' when she cried, most of the time 'baba' 'ba' 'bua' ' aya' 'da' 'dada' even..'ek elleh' and 'alah' - i just can't believe my ears. Kelakar giler we laughed our heads off sampai terduduk. She's so active suke jumping up and down..i think it's the result of consuming lots of chocs during pregnant-I hv a super ACTIVE LASAK baby. Other than milk she consumed crushed farley biscuit, mashed apples, mashed potatoes and i'm planning to broiled a beef broth or fish broth for her. OK...i can go on and on and on about her. It's true...when u hv ur own baby u marveled at every single thing even the most yuckiest thing such as their poop or boogey as what happened here. Hahahahahaha..i love picking zara's nose and ears too!! Muahahaha.

Raya

It's never too late. Sib baik raya sebulan. Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri & Maaf Zahir Batin. Lots of houses and open houses to attend in order to collect ang pow for Zara.
For the first time, on eve of raya around midnite we went to jalan TAR and i managed to grab 8 brand new baju kurung which fits me nicely at a bargain price, oh..except 1 baju i hv to send it for alteration. Zara- 1 baju kurung and DH- baju melayu. Semuanya at a bargained price. Best!! Can we go again next year DH?? please please..

6 months after delivery

Wow!! 6 months already? mcm tekan fast forward button je da 6 months. At 6 months, i'm supposed to call for an appointment to meet up my gynae. Is it important to meet up on the 6 months after delivery? My MIL asked me whether i hv my menses yet. I said no. She said...bahaya tu, Zara boleh dpt adik. I'm still BF-ing Zara so, i guess that's the reason why i'm still not getting the flow. Tp mmg bahaya pun sbb Zara leh t'jadik big sister. Then again, kalau da rezeki nk buat cemane? hehehe *peace*

Back on work mode. Daa!!

At 8pm - Zara's asleep.

At 9:30pm - Zara's wide awake.

At 10pm - Mommy is sleepy already. So, Mommy hands Zara over to Abah & hit the sack. Zzzzz..

At 10:30pm - Mommy's asleep. Zara's asleep too.

At 11pm - Zara's awake. Mommy tried to ignore Zara & hope that Abah will attend to Zara. BUT...Zara kept on crying at the top of her lungs. Mommy picked her up..and owh..Zara smiled and looking at Mommy with her big bulat eyes. My heart melts. She wants to play..huhu..

At 11:30pm - Play Play Play tickle tickle Giggle Giggle..ok da happy kan? Mommy placed Zara carefully in her cot. At first, Zara cooed and talked to herself. Mommy tepuk2 Zara with her eyes closed. But, 10 mins later Zara cried again..nk main. Mommy said..Go to sleep Zara..Mommy wants to go to a SOGO MEMBERS SALE tmrw, Mommy have to sleep early. But Zara keeps on crying louder & louder..sampai Mommy rase nk letak baby cot Zara kat luar rumah [sbb kalau kat luar rumah Zara diam].

At 12am- Zara's still crying..so mommy brought her to the hall. She's having a blast crying & can i say shouting at the same time? That is when Wan & Atuk came to Zara's rescue. Mommy went to the kitchen for a hot milo.

At 12:30am- Mommy is so sleepy that she decided to switch on her laptop and play sorority life while waiting for Zara to fall asleep.

At 1:45am- Zara's asleep. Mommy's still in the kitchen blogging bc Mommy no longer felt sleepy. While Abah? Abah still sleeping soundly despite the raucous.

Lil Zara's 1st baby food prepared with lots of love!

One of the moment that i've been waiting for is to prepare a baby food.
Zara's 1st solid food prepared by me is apple puree.
However, her 1st taste of solid food is nestum cereal prepared by her grandma.
We started giving her solid food when she's at her 4 months as advised by her Paed.
I thot babies shd start solid food at 6 months old, but her Paed assured me that Lil Zara is an active baby she's ready to start on solid food.
At first, DH & me were hesitant to introduced Zara to her solid food until she's 6 months.
But, she looks starving after BF & looks happy during eating time & her bowel movement is not effected.
So..now, at 5 months i'm introducing her to apple puree;> She loves it.
I can't wait to prepare more baby food. Next will be veges!!

Apple Puree Recipe:

Ingredient:
1. Apple
2. Lots of Love

How to:
1. Wash, peel and sliced an apple into small thin pieces (Easier to mash it later on)
2. Place in a small saucepan filled with water. Bring to boil and simmer until tender.
3. Tossed the tender apple and then mashed it.
4. Cool it and ready to serve.

She's 5 months yday.

Looking at this pic, i realised that she's a carbon copy of me.
When i showed this pic to my mom and asked her "Muke sape ni?". My mom laughed aloud and said "pegi tgk lik UR baby pics. Same pose..same eyes..exactly the same."
Perhaps i shd dig out old baby photos of me and compare it with her pickan?.

My parents is currently in Singapore. They'll be gone for 2 days & 1 nite to visit our sick relative.
We hv part of the house to ourselves (part=bc my sister's at home too).
Since having a baby...this is the first time, we r at home without Zara's grandparents (i.e without parents guidance).
So, there's no one else to pass lil Zara's around when i've exhausted all ways to calm her down except my sister & DH. Hahahaha.

I'm able to blog bc Zara's asleep. She's 4 months today!!
So..what now?

The most important thing for today is...WHAT'S FOR DINNER?? in between tending to the lil pwincess.
Haven't cooked for such a long time since i got pregnant & living manja2 with my parents (ok..ada lah once or twice je masak).
It's not my fault altogether..everyone enjoyed her cooking rather than mine.
The thought of her masak lemak sardin..asam pedas..terung berlada..ayam sambal..fresh brussels sprout with sos ikan..makes me hungry now.

Now, what's for dinner?

When u've dragged ur husband on Sunday Morning (when both of u shd be playing golek2 with ur baby on bed) to watch HP Movie, which u know that it's not his cup of milo and u end up having to explain who is Tom Riddle.

Bile da jadik mcm tu, u just hv to be redha bile dipakse tgk Man U v Malaysia @ Bukit Jalil on Monday nite (lepas balik penat2 dr office) and annoyed him by asking to point out where is Wes Brown (lens-power da naik).

The eager crowd- Shouted for Rooney, Owen & Nani. Me? got amused when i saw a bunch of male fans holding a big manila card saying W.E. LOVE (as in a heart shape) O.W.E.N. Err...i didnt snap their pics tho.

How to teach ur baby to stay quietly in his/her stroller while Mommy shops?

I tried several times and end up with failure.
Gantung toys la, letak blanket la, letak pillow la, letak head support la, to make sure she's comfy.
Tp, semua tak berjaya. She'll cried out loud mcm kene kidnap.
Last2 shopping bags and Lil Zara's diaper bag yg dok dlm stroller.

So, stroller is out unless she's asleep, but she seldom sleep when we go out bc she enjoyed having her look see.

Next option: I've tried baby wearing...

She kept quiet for 5 mins n then she cried. I guess she didnt like it because she can't stretch her legs. Lil Zara ni suke stretch her legs.

and now

Anor option: I've tried baby carrier...

Bought one from Mom's care in red. Ok..Lil Zara seems to enjoy it (dia bole stretch2 n look around) and siap leh tertido in that front position. Tp, the carrier mcm leceh giler nk pakai and nk bukak.

So, ade sesape nk hadiahkan BabyBjorn? The carrier seems a lot easier to wear;P

Cube teka hairstyle sape itu? I missed her hair *sob

Pandai nangis suara sedih2 pilu gitu.
Suke tak tido mlm.
Bole tido lena on her Mama's chest. Sib baik ringan Zara ni..kalau tak, tak bernafas haku.
Kalau Lil Zara marah, kaki dia lurus2 tegak. She has a very strong legs.
Marah & nangis kuat2 bile org bukak baju dia.
Tak suke tido siang. Tido pun like 30 mins aje.
Noticed moving object. She noticed a moving graphic in my phone to the amazement of my neighbour.
1st injection masa 1 month - Lil Zara cried without a sound masa Dr cucuk jarum. Olololo..cian dia. Her grandma bergenang2 mata tgk Lil Zara nangis sampai takde suara. While Lil Zara's own Mama? sengih2 tgk dramatic la anak haku ni.

@ 2 months:

Playing with Ti Ya.

Lil Zara buat mogok kat rumah when her Mama's at work-tanak minum ebm for almost 3 weeks and tanak tido di siang hari. Huhu..ikut perangai sape ni pandai mogok lapar.
Lil Zara tak bgn mlm da..tp takleh tido alone. Manja mengada si kecik. Sib baik comel.
Suke nk bdiri, suke kene dukung, & nangis2 kalau org duduk masa pegang dia.
Choosy on bottle teats. Teats terpilih ialah NUK.
Tak suke Mr Inch Worm.
Can lift her head for several second.
Suke main air liur.
Can rolled to her side.
Pandai tgk 3G and borak2 with her Ti-Ya.
2nd injection: Da cool, nangis sekejap je.

@ 3 months:

Lil Zara with Mr Inch Worm & Bugs.

Lil Zara buat attempt nk bgn bile kite baringkan dia.
Can lift her head without support.
Sgt suke main air liur..meleleh2 sampai kene pakaikan bib.
Loves to talk with Spider/Speder & Mr Inch Worm.
Refused NUK teats, so da switch lik ke Avent.
Suke nk bdiri. Mmg strong legs.
Dulu suke nangis bile bukak baju, skang tidak lagi...Lil Zara nangis bile org pakaikan baju pulak.
Can roll to her side sampai terlangkup..pastu nangis sbb tak pandai roll-over.
Manja with Abah. Recognizes Abah's voice. Baguskan?
Suke nk borak2. Grunts outloud when ppl didnt pay attention. Huhu..
Pandai tgk tv. She can watch Jungle Book Cartoon quietly.
Ticklish Lil Zara.
She laughs when someone tickles her. Yes, i said laugh not giggle. [I'm amazed..i thot lil baby dunno how to laugh.]

Hellloooooooowwww anybody home?

Sorry ye peminat2 sekalian i know u've been waiting for my entry patiently;P. It's been a kabut month at work (it's all about figures-i began to feel like i shd take masters in stats) + the streamyx at home gone kuku last week. Fortunately, i've time today to finally blog in an entry.

Last Sunday bwk Zara jln2 pegi Melaka (to my unc's house).

On the way to Malacca for about 1 hr...

Zara tido...maka sempat posing bsama.

upclose Zara yg sleeping soundly.

However, after that she woke up crying cari milk bar. Takdela snap gmbr.

Ini da sampai n Zara da kenyang. She wanted to sleep like this..Sile takyah kesian..her fave position to sleep or to be soothed mmg pelik2. If she didnt get her way she'll cry.

Pada pukul 8:30am, DH woke me up while smiling brightly saying today is the day!! Lil Zara tgh tido tanpa ada keraguan yg DH+me got a big plan for her. So, we prepared what shd be prepared and mengerjakan pale lil Zara yg tgh tido...

tgh2 trim rambut, lil Zara t'bgn n nangis...terpakse stop.

Nyang dukung, pujuk2 lil Zara

Pastu, atuk lak pujuk sampai lil Zara tertido. DH tgh admiring his half done job.

Tibe2 Wan lak dtg, and continue shave rambut lil Zara

Finally, lil Zara is left with a bald and shiny head.

I reached home safe & sound:> 40-60km per hour. Teruk betul, mcm nenek tua bwk kete. (tunggula da ingat jalan, drive tutup mata).
Anyway, bile balik...Zara tgh tido, mcm tau2 je she wakes up and buat muke nk nangis. I picked her up and dia mengomel2 (cube complaint on what happened while i'm at work kot) hehe. Cute.

First day at work

Kb tlh drive kete after...like almost a year! Okla, ape dramatic almost a year, sbnrnyer 9 months tak drive kete-pegi balik my mom/sister/DH fetched. Tgh pregnant kan, takmo stress2. So, today dgn sejuk2 tgn tlh drive follow my DH drive depan (since i've no sense of direction, takut kalau sorg2 kang patah balik umah sbb tension kene drive) dan selamat sampai office awal before 7:30am.

First person met: Azali baru sampai tempat parking nk reverse2 kete ke belakang.

Second person met on my way down lupe nk tukar slipper: Pit baru sampai basement parking.

I felt Lucky:

Tibe2 ade mkn2 (save duit for lunch). Owh not makan2 for me tp makan2 tanpa tujuan oleh org lain for their office.
Tibe2 Yat dtg lepak. Bukan senang nk lepak with Yat eventho she's technically work here too. Dan Yat!! Hahahahaha(golek2 gelak)..aku selitkan CD Dog itu. Silelah tgk yek. Muahahahahaha
Hari ni keje tak sakit pale...tho' at first hati rase sedih sgt..ni pun still rase sedih tapi nk balik da!!! yippie!! can't wait2.

Anyway, wish me luck...semoga tidak sesat jalan balik rumah. Huhu..DH br called pesan suh drive carefully, hari ujan lebat.

Some individuals do not cope really well with staying at home all day. They need the stimulation and distraction the work brings, otherwise the frustration gets the better of them. And I belong to this category. ~Anonymous~

I don't belong to that category. I think i can cope well by staying at home all day. I don't need the stimulation at work and i won't feel frustrated without the distraction that office work brings (just thinking about it makes me stressful already). At home, there's a lot of chores to be done as well. Not to mention the distraction when ur lil one is crying for ur attention. I'm not going 'kuku' yet while staying at home for 60 days tending to my daughter's need.

The thing is I don't really like the idea of being far from my daughter. She's still 2 months..i can really get used to the idea of working perhaps after she's 1 year. Why do we get only 60 days? It's not enuff!! At least 90 days with gaji seems ok.

I'm not allowed to bf my daughter during the day, bc we want her to get used to bottle. Altho we've trained her with bottle since Day 3, she still refused it unless she's really really hungry. She wud cry for 1 or 2 hours-stop for 15 mins-continue crying for anor 1 hour-stop-continue until she gets her milk bar. Just like what happened just now. It's just so heart wrenching to hear her cries knowing that she wants to get her hands on milkbar when she has every rights to it.

My other concerns are the 'what if' s...

WHAT IF..

I'm not the first person to see her crawl/stand/walk?
I'm not the first person to hear her call mama/abah?
She is confused that my mom & dad is her mama/abah and called them mama/papa instead?
She don't want to cling to her milk bar anymore as she got confused with the bottle?
She gets more affectionate with my mom/dad? and she don't want us anymore?

OK..giler negative thinking kan?
I shd be thankful that my mom & dad is around to take a good care of my daughter. One way or another..i still need to work as i'm a woman with lost of needs and Malaysia got so many warehouse sales (especially books & baby stuff) that i hv the urge to splurge on. Alright...I hv to work tomorrow. Nk pegi gosok baju keje..

Lil Zara sgt manja with her Atuk. One makcik (neighbour) said to me : "Abis la ko, bagi kat mama papa ko jaga, budak ni nanti manja ngn diorg. Bile dia tak dpt barang yg dia nak dr mama ngn abah dia, dia mintak kat Wan /Atuk dia. Atuk la yg akan paling senang nk cair dgn cucu perempuan.". Hmm..mmg Lil Zara manja ngn Atuk dia pun da...

Bile nangis..bagi la kat Atuk terus diam.

Bile Atuk lalu tak angkat Zara, she will tegur Atuk as if saying "Atuk, tanak amik Zara ke?"

Lil Zara pun senang sgt di tidokan Atuk as compared to other ppl in this house.
